As usual, I’m pretty late when it comes to sharing my yearly Christmas gift guides. But hopefully some of you out there are just as late when it comes to buying their Christmas gifts!
This comes as a surprise to a lot of people, but we don’t really believe in extravagant Christmas gifting in our house. In fact, this year we have a spending limit so that no one feels the need to go over the top! When I was younger it might have bugged me that everyone I knew was getting huge gifts, wads of cash or expensive handbags or perfumes for Christmas when I would get mainly books and other bits and bobs or maybe the occasional more expensive present based around whatever I was into that year….but now I actually love it!
It seems to make the whole thing a lot more special when you have to think about it more rather than just feeling the need to splash the cash on any old gift to make sure you’re spending as much as the other person.
Buying smaller means you have to be more creative, come up with cute ideas for gifts and probably do a bit of bargain hunting. I love that kind of thing so it actually makes me love Christmas shopping even more and get even more excited about giving my gifts on Christmas Day, feeling secretly smug at the great finds I’ve got under the spending limit!
I wanted to share my finds for cute Christmas gifts that won’t cost you the earth. Or even if you do want to spend more, can make a cute bundle of a few gifts for your loved ones – I’m a sucker for arranging ‘themed’ gifts for my family, made up of smaller presents that all go together – for example some nice gin glasses, a book about cocktail making and the bottle of gin to go with it!
This one’s for her – full of gorgeous gifting ideas for your sister/girlfriend/best friends. Basically just screenshot this and give it to your friends as their shopping list!
Christmas Gifts for Her
I scoured my favourite websites and highstreet stores for my ultimate Christmas buys this year, and I’m really pleased with the results – how much would you love to find any of these under your tree? I guess I’m pretty same-y each year when it comes to the kind of Christmas gifts I like, but there are some gifts that are just always a great idea!
Books, beauty and homeware are always my favourite: I mean who doesn’t want to have a bit of a pamper and curl up with a good read to beat the post-Christmas blues?!
I rounded up my favourite new book publications from Octopus Publishing – self love is a big theme with The Power of Yes and this gorgeous Self-Care Journal. How to Dress Like a Parisian is sure to be an instagram fave this year, stacked with fashion advice and quirky tips. And I threw in the Little Black Book as it’s definitely a book every gal should have (plus at just £4 on Amazon right now it’s the perfect stocking filler or secret santa gift!
Candles are always a firm favourite with me – I love the White Company ones and the Winter scent smells super festive! One of my fave finds this year though were these Jo Malone-a-like candles that ASDA are selling for a fraction of the price! Definitely a great buy if you’re looking for some luxe-for-less.
Luxe beauty products will always be a treat for me, and something that’s forever on my wishlist – I mean you can never have enough, they’ll always run out and there’s always new products to try! Plus after all the Christmas indulgence (and back to back Christmas parties) I definitely need some pampering!
I love to receive luxury beauty products that I wouldn’t always buy (or be able to afford) for myself so any of these gorgeous brands make for a perfect gift! My ultimate favourites are the bath oils from Aromatherapy Associates – seriously the best treat for your body at bath time and all the scents are amazing! I’m also loving Look Fantastic’s selection of the best skincare if you need some inspiration for new products to try!
Let’s not lie, alcohol is always a fail-safe gift option! I pretty much always buy it for my Dad and brother every year (I mean hello easy gifting!) and of course I’ll never say no to receiving it myself! My favourite way to make an alcohol gift a bit more special is to put together a little gift pack with some cute glasses you think they’ll like, the alcohol itself and maybe a book about cocktails or some a cute gift pack of cocktail ingredients to go with it! This G&Tea Cocktail Teapot is just too cute and the perfect way to make alcohol gifting a bit more personal!
Last but not least I rounded up some of my fave mini gifts for Stocking Fillers. Stockings are actually one of my favourite parts of Christmas – there’s nothing that turns me back into an excited little kid quite like waking up i the morning to a big pile of presents to tear my way through!
I’m not going to lie, my stocking normally includes thing like pritt stick, satsumas, chocolate coins and packs of tissues….but it’s always nice to have some slightly more special bits too! You can’t beat mini beauty gifts, and a gal can never have too many facemasks so I’m always chuffed to find these in my stocking!
And shout out to my fave stocking find of the year – Scent Addict. It’s the fragrance subscription service from The Fragrance Shop where you get a tester of a different perfume each month to try out, plus money off if you decide to buy the full bottle! It’s the perfect way to find your new favourite scent, or mix it up if you hate to commit to just one bottle – plus the mini size spritzer is the perfect handbag (and stocking) size!
So there you have it – my pick of the best Christmas gifts for her this year! Which ones will you be adding to your list?
