FASHION | Thigh high boots & florals

It seems like a while since I posted anything about fashion! It’s funny how my blog has changed over time – I remember back in the day when it was just wall-to-wall outfit posts (and yes, some of them were just photos taken in my bedroom – how times have changed…) I like the changes though, and I’m loving writing about more lifestyle and travel stuff on here but sometimes it’s nice to go back to a bit of fashion content, after all that’s why I first started this blog! One of the annoying things about not having an instagram husband (read: pissed off boyfriend who is roped into taking pictures for me) is that it makes fashion blogging pretty tricky. I’ve been making do with asking friends when we’re out and about but it does mean that I have found myself posting less outfit pics. Luckily I met up with the lovely Gemma to shoot some looks last week so I’ve now got a few fashion posts lined up for you! I’m always on the lookout for blogging buddies to take photos, so if anyone is reading this and thinking the same then hit me up! I’m always up for a blogging date for outfit shooting and coffee/cocktail drinking!

This outfit is a little bit out of my regular comfort zone. At the moment I’m basically living in jeans, band tees and oversized shirts so to wear something short, tight and dressy does freak me out a little bit! But it’s probably good for me to mix it up a bit and I loved this dress and thigh high boots combo too much to not style it up for some photos, even if I’m still not sure whether I like these pics or if I should maybe step away from the bodycon and never, ever go back….the jury’s out on that one for now! I’ve wanted a pair of over the knee thigh high boots for ages but being a wuss about heel heights, it’s hard to find my perfect pair that aren’t too high! I love the chunky mid-heel on these, it makes them much easer to wear for someone like me who is allergic to dressing up too much. I’d really like to style these with some jeans and a shirt too for a more casual take on them! I like them with this floral print though, this would be a great outfit for a dinner or cocktail date! Jane Norman is one of those brands I wouldn’t necessarily think to be my style, but their new collection actually has some fab pieces! I’d recommend checking it out for some on-trend bargains.

What do you think of today’s look? How would you style a pair of thigh high boots?
