Rose & Mary Crouch End | Gluten Free Takeaway Review

I’m not going to lie, I love a takeaway. By the time it gets to the weekend I’m often feeling too lazy to cook or craving a treat and can’t help but give in to my boyfriend’s pleas to order something from Just Eat! My go-to is usually Thai (green curry is probably my favourite food in the world) but due to my slight health-freak tendencies I can end up feeling a bit guilty if I eat it too often. Luckily, my prayers have been answered by the newest addition to N8’s takeaway options, Rose & Mary – a super quick gluten free takeaway delivering not only delicious but healthy grub to your door!

It’s honestly amazing and unlike any other takeaway I’ve tried. Created by two friends (Rose and Mary…duh) who are all about healthy eating and gourmet ingredients, the ever-changing menu is packed with delicious nutritious choices to try. Everything is gluten free and sugar free, but please don’t let that put you off if you’re not normally into the clean-eating movement! There’s plenty of choice from healthy favourites like Courgetti Bolognese to their signature dish of Oxtail & Sweet Potato Gratin, including veggie and meat mains, starters or lighter meals, healthy juices and even desserts. My favourite dish I’ve tried so far is the Mushroom & Truffle Oil Risotto – a dish so rich and delicious it doesn’t taste healthy in the slightest! You can check out this week’s menu here – I’m dying to try the Sea Bass that they’ve added this week! The only thing that could be improved is to introduce sides – I like to have extra veg with my meal so it’s a bit of a shame that some of the dishes don’t come with veg or have the option to add them as a side. That’s just a tiny thing though and they’re constantly expanding their menu so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time! All in all it’s basically fresh, hearty homemade food delivered straight to your door – perfect comfort food that won’t leave you feeling unhealthy later.

They’re open 5.30 to 9.30 Monday-Saturday and you can order online, at their shop in Alexandra Palace or via the app (download it here). Another plus point if you get as impatient (or hangry) as me is the delivery time which is normally under half an hour – much quicker than my usual Chinese! At the moment the delivery area is limited to Crouch End, Finsbury Park, Highgate, Muswell Hill and Stroud Green but they plan to expand soon.

I honestly can’t recommend trying Rose & Mary enough, and I’ve got even more of an incentive for you to try it out – you can get £10 off your first order with the code ptIsSCgK9z. That’s enough to cover your whole meal! Check out their website here for more info and let me know if you decide to try it out for yourself this weekend!
