Hardly Ever Worn It | Designer Fashion for Less

Like any fashion-lover, I dream of owning the perfect designer pieces. Unfortunately so far it has only ever been able to be just that – a dream – for me. My instagram feed is chock-a-block with fellow bloggers clutching their latest designer bags, showing off their gucci loafers with a #fwis close-up or carrying my favourite Chloe bag on their shoulders (the Drew, obvs) but I can’t help wondering how on earth they manage to have such a collection of designer fashion when my bank balance answers with a loud no if I even consider splurging on a designer piece!

So imagine my delight when I was introduced to Hardly Ever Worn It, a buying and selling platform similar to eBay but focused purely on designer items. They have a massive selection of pieces from a huge range of designers and with new pieces uploaded all the time, there are plenty of bargains to be had! They sell both new and used items but the quality is always checked and a lot of the pieces are marked as never worn, but are still being sold at a fraction of the retail price. Plenty of the new or nearly-new items are half price, so if there’s an investment piece you really want it’s the perfect first stop to see if you can bag yourself a saving!

I picked out some of my favourites above, timeless investment designer pieces that might be a splurge, but will stay in your wardrobe for life and always be in style. Obviously Chanel featured heavily as it’s my ultimate in timeless designer fashion but there are also more current styles from Valentino and YSL that were available still at a fraction of the price – amazing! Shoes and bags for me are the way forward when it comes to buying designer – they can make a highstreet outfit look instantly more expensive, but there is plenty of clothing and other accessories available too. I’ve listed all links and prices below in case anything catches your eye and I definitely recommend browsing the site for more designer finds – trust me, it was very tricky to narrow down my favourites selection just to these!

You can check out Hardly Ever Worn It here. Happy shopping and let me know if you find yourself a bargain!

Awe, thanks for the link!I know, $120 is a lot for dinner. My boyfriend and I spent about that much when we went out for our belated Valentine’s dinner at this steakhouse downtown.I’m sure your wife really appreciated it though (she did, didn’t she?) because you splurged on a night out with just the two of you and it was at a romantic villa!I wouldn’t call this lifestyle inflation, unless you started doing it every week or every month! =)

Hi Addy,I typically approach it by saying something along the lines of “What if you were to…?” I also say, “I might do it this way,” or “I wouldn’t do it that way.”If it’s a judgment, I shy away from saying the right thing to do is…When it’s something that I want to be done in a certain way, saying, “Do it like this” works. It’s always a work in progress though!Love and Roses,Paul

FYI. I wanted to let you know that the Oct. 22 edition of the New Yorker has a fascinating article called “Germs Are Us” by Michael Specter. A point it makes is that antibiotics are herbicides for humans. That while medically necessary, they change the ecology of our bodies in unimaginable and unhappy ways. But you already know that.
