UGG Boots & Afternoon Tea

When I was challenged by UGG Australia to style up some of their classic boots to go for afternoon tea, I have to admit I was a little bit dubious. Possibly still mentally scarred from my teenage years when everyone and their mum was wearing fake Ugg boots with every outfit, I’d pretty much sworn them out of my wardrobe forever. However, I was proven wrong when I saw their new collection (and of course the styling from that Vogue shoot) and soon realised that even though I’d thought Ugg boots were best saved only for the most dressed-down of off-duty outfits, I could actually make them work for something a little more fashion-y, even if that was going for a fancy afternoon tea at London’s Soho Hotel!

I chose UGG’s cool leather double-zip mini boots and styled them up with an all monochrome look and some faux fur to create an Autumn-friendly vibe. I actually love this look and it’s perfect for wandering around the city on a chilly November day. Best of all, I cannot believe how comfy these boots are!! I think after all my years of hating, I might just be a UGG convert…..

As for the Afternoon Tea itself, it was absolutely delicious. I took the opportunity to treat one of my best friends in the world, and we took our time over the most beautiful tea and cakes to have a proper catch up. I had booked the Soho Hotel on a whim as it happened to have space on Sunday afternoon, but it turned out to be perfect – pretty, cosy and  friendly and better yet they didn’t seem to mind us staying for hours and making our tea last in order to chat all afternoon! The eclectic vibe of the hotel matched the menu, and we feasted on pulled pork sandwiches, mini burger sliders, halloumi skewers and beautiful cupcakes as part of our afternoon tea treats. Compared to some afternoon teas it was also great value at £22.50 per person – I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an afternoon bite somewhere hidden away in the centre of London!

A big thank you for UGG Australia for treating us to such a deliciously girly treat and of course for opening my eyes to how I can style up UGG boots in my everyday wardrobe, I think these might have become a permanent fixture!

Oh wow, you look amaze and that tea looks fab! I know what you mean about those awful fake UGG days, but their styles over the last couple of years have been beaut, especially the non traditional boots and shoes. I get my man the Scuff slippers every Christmas, it’s his little treat, and they look great all year. J x
