And so my Manchester food tour continues….this time to Grill on the Alley, a restaurant I’d heard a lot about but never actually tried. I was invited along by Thomas Cook to celebrate their new American routes to NYC and Miami (as well as Boston and LA in 2016). Unfortunately they didn’t send me to the States, but they did send me (and my very happy boyfriend) to sample their states-inspired burger takeover! I’d heard good things about Grill on the Alley’s steaks, so of course I assumed their burgers would be pretty special too….and I definitely wasn’t wrong! They’ve created four USA-themed burgers for each of the different routes; we tried the NYC burger (pastrami, pickles and lancashire cheese) and the Boston burger (prawns & crayfish, garlic butter and back bacon) which were both absolutely de-lish! We were lucky enough to be treated to a slap-up meal, so we tried plenty of sides (the fries were the best I’ve ever had) and cocktails (I recommend the Passionfruit Martini) to make the most of our mid-week date night! It was all scrummy, and I’ll definitely be back to try out their signature steak at a later date.
If you fancy trying out the #TCABurgerTakeover for yourself, get yourself to Grill on the Alley before August 3rd to try one of the limited edition burgers! Thomas Cook are also offering one lucky person the chance to win flights to one of the destinations, all you need to do is instagram or tweet a pic of your burger using the hashtag to enter!
