I found this beauty of a shirt in a charity shop the other day and I am loving it. I think oversized patterned shirts are always a great vintage find and I love the pattern of this one and the fact that it’s silk so feels amazing to wear! I like that it’s long enough to act as a shirt dress too – I am wearing shorts underneath though to avoid awkward moments, don’t worry!
I had a bit of trouble trying to find similar things on the high street but even for the fearful thrifters amongst you, things like this are always easy to find in vintage shops or charity shops! You just have to keep an open mind – things that look gross on the hanger can often turn out to be great on, even if this means a bit of customising by getting rid of the sleeves or, like I did here, removing some unflattering shoulder pads! Here’s a couple of similar shirts I found in the mainstream, although they’re more like tops than shirt-dresses.
Hope you’ve all been enjoying the lovely weather this week! I definitely have – it’s been BBQs and daytime beers-in-the-garden galore for me recently! I’ve got work tomorrow though, so I’m going to try and catch an early night (which is rapidly late-ning as I type) in preparation for that, so sorry this has been a short one, hopefully I’ll be posting quite a bit this week though!
